Bradgate Park

Bradgate Park is so close to where I live but I've only been there a few times. Tom has never been so we decided to take advantage of the sunny (ish) weather and go for a walk. When we got there the sun was out and it was a gorgeous day but it did get extremely windy, especially when we got to the top of the hill which is why I look so windswept! I decided to take my big camera to try and get some nice pictures, I love using my camera but I always forget to take it with me usually.

We both have a week off work to celebrate our 3 year anniversary on Wednesday so we're going to try to go out and do things rather than just sit and eat/watch tv like we usually do! (Although it is pretty great when we do that too)

Hope you had a good Monday!

Wishlist | Off to the Races*

1. Black Dress | ASOS
2. Heels | Topshop
3. Blazer | New Look via ASOS
4. Necklace | Topshop

2014 has been full of excitement so far but March is looking a little dull in comparison to January and February, it's the month before my birthday so the excitement is there but it's also my busiest month in work so social life takes a back seat. The Grand National is coming up in March which is something I've always thought would be so much fun to attend with some girlfriends even though I am generally quite nervous around horses! Unfortunately I won't be attending the races this year, but a girl can day dream, right? Or if you're lucky enough you could WIN tickets to go with a friend and maybe if you're lucky you could make some money placing some bets!

Some people seem to go down the 'country' look when creating outfits but that just isn't my style. I've gone for this gorgeous midi dress which is still modest while not being boring and paired with this white blazer it makes the outfit very monochrome. Stilettos are  a no-no so I went for these chunky heeled black sandals and then to finish the look off I chose this statement necklace from Topshop. I think this outfit is understated but still really chic. Of course if the weather took a turn for the worst a coat would be necessary! I think this outfit may be a bit optimistic for March in England!

What would you wear to the races?

New Hair

I seem to be constantly getting bored with my hair at the moment! I still love being brunette but felt like I needed another change so I went to my hairdressers with a photo of the gorgeous Suki Waterhouse as inspiration - who doesn't want to look like her at the moment?!

I have also been on a quest to perfect voluminous hair so I've acquired quite a few products which all use the words 'messy' 'volume' 'texture' in the descriptions! I'm still trialling them all so I think there will be reviews on my favourites coming in the next couple of weeks. My current favourites are the Bumble & Bumble texture creme and Toni & Guy Sea Salt spray. I'm excited to try the Charles Worthington Texturising Spray after hearing Amelia from Amelia Liana compare it to the Oribe texturising spray in her video with Fleur.

Let me know what you think of my new fringe!

February Favourites

Already two months into 2014, how crazy is that?! It's time for my February favourites.
Two of these products are re-purchases, the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat and the Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter. I'd run out of the YSL foundation and didn't immediately re-purchase because I had so many others to use but I was in John Lewis and thought I'd pick it up again. I'm so glad I did because it has quickly become my go-to foundation again. Medium coverage, very dewy but also lasts all day. No complaints! I have been pairing it with my MAC Melba blusher, I had been favouring more pinky colours but I have recently gone back to this old favourite - a gorgeous peachy option.

Final make-up items are the Maybelline Browdrama which is the perfect brow set with a hint of colour, nothing crazy but just does the job really well for a very reasonable price. And then my L'Oreal Eye Kohl. I usually go for a liquid liner but I've been trying to use my eyeshadows more and I've been enjoying finishing off the look with some smudgy black liner. This eyeliner smudges really nicely but then also sets and doesn't move around which is exactly what I'm after!

Last two favourites this month are the Lush cuticle butter and Essie Mint Candy Apple. This minty polish is all I've been wearing for the last few weeks, I think I want it to be Spring!! And to keep my nails looking in good condition I've been trying to use this cuticle butter every night, it's really moisturising and helps to nourish the skin around my nails.

So there are all my favourites this month, hope you've had a great February and here's to a sunnier, dryer March!
