March Fitness Update

End of another month so time for a fitness update! This month has been a bit of a mixed bag. The first 2 weeks were a bit of a failure with exercise with only 1 work out, whoops! But I managed to keep my diet relatively healthy with the help of My Fitness Pal. I'm sure you've heard of it but it's a really good app to track your calorie intake. I find it quite motivating to input the food and I'm less likely to scoff 2 bags of crisps if I know I'm going to see the calories written down in the app.

The third week of March was much better, my diet was really good and I managed to do 3 Kayla workouts and I was feeling so motivated. But then the last week I have been super ill. If you follow me on twitter I'm sure you will know this already as I've been doing a lot of whinging! I have such a bad chesty cough and headache etc so I've not done any exercise other than walking. I did try to do one of Kayla's workouts but it started with burpees and I only managed 3 before I had a coughing fit! I am really annoyed that I've got ill because I was feeling so so motivated.

I have cut down a lot on my alcohol, which is great for all round health not just for loosing weight and I think me and my boyfriend are going to try to not really drink in April other than my birthday, of course!

It's about a month until my birthday so that is my short-term motivation. Then obviously summer is coming which is my next motivation, I want to feel happy and confident in shorts and skirts which would not be the case right now. I also found this photo of me from last summer, I was about a stone lighter and I remember being really happy with my figure. I can barely do those shorts up now :(

But I'm feeling positive that this photo was only about 8 months ago so I can clearly get back to that weight. I always have some ridiculously toned girl as my motivation but I know it's seriously unlikely I would ever have the commitment to look like that so I think it's much healthier for me to use my past self as motivation!

I have decided that in April I am going to do weekly fitness updates. I think this will help to keep me motivated and if I'm getting towards the end of the week having not done any exercise it will make me get my trainers out so I have something to write about!!

How are your fitness journey's going?

Four Years

Dress - ASOS
Leather Jacket - Topshop Boutique

Yesterday was mine and Tom's four year anniversary together so we went out for dinner and drinks to celebrate! He met me after work in Camden and we went down to the Camden Locks and sat outside (even though it was a bit chilly!) with a few drinks. I'd booked us dinner at the Blue Print Cafe which is right by the Tower of London. So we got the tube to London Bridge and then had a nice leisurely stroll by the river to the restaurant. I'm so glad it wasn't raining as it was such a lovely walk. Since moving to London I hadn't actually seen Tower Bridge so that was awesome, it looked so nice and it was really quiet.

We decided to go for the fixed menu at Blue Print Cafe and we both actually ate the exact same food! We had salt beef to start and then the most delicious lamb I have ever had in my life. All washed down with a lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio. The service at the restaurant was amazing, in my booking I had said it was our anniversary and they had made a note of it so when we arrived they congratulated us. They kept our bottle of wine in a cooler but made sure the glasses were never empty, perfect ;)

All in all I had an amazing day, we don't often go out just the two of us so it was really special to spend all evening out together. We've decided to make sure we make the effort to go out for meals more regularly as we both had an amazing time in a part of London that we wouldn't usually go to.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

A Little Boots Haul

I was doing so well with the regularly blogging this month, but I slacked off a bit the last few days. I didn't take any photos last Sunday and was home the weekend just gone so haven't taken any then either. So not sure how I'm going to write posts this week! These photos I've taken from my instagram. I need it to be daylight when I get home from work!! Blogger problems.

I went shopping with my mum on Saturday and picked up a few things from Boots. I'd been looking to try a new eyebrow product for a while so I went for the Soap and Glory Brow Tint and Precision Shaping pencil. My Estee Lauder bronzer is finally coming to the end so I needed to pick up a replacement, I can't quite afford the Estee Lauder one at the moment so I went for another Soap and Glory product. This is the Solar Powder bronzer which I have heard so many good things about so excited to give this a try! And then it was 3 for 2 on all make up so obviously I had to get a third item so I chose another Essie nail polish because I am literally obsessed. This is Sand Tropez and I'm sure it will pop up in a nail post soon!

I have been really lovely wearing the bracelets that are in my 2nd photo, I usually just wear my Pandora bracelets so all my other ones get forgotten. But my dad gave me the orange and brown one after he came back from his travels and it didn't really go with my Pandora bracelets so I dug out some other old faves. No idea where any of them are from but I'm really enjoying wearing them!

I hope you don't mind that these are just instagram photos but sometimes I find it interesting to hear a bit more about the photo that I wouldn't write on instagram. I'm going to try really hard to keep organised and taking photos when I can. I can't wait til the clocks go back so I can have some daylight in the evenings!

Hope you all have a great week!

Birthday Clothes Wishlist

Dungarees | ASOS
Cropped T-shirt | Urban Outfitters
White Slip Ons | Topshop

Yes, that's right. Another birthday wish list! I have been looking for a pair of dungarees for ages, obviously inspired by the babe that is Alexa Chung!

I think they are such a fun piece to style and I think I've found my perfect ones on ASOS. I love the flash of ankle and the colour of the denim is amazing. I would wear them over this gorgeous stripy cropped t-shirt which I think would be perfect for spring weather, whenever the sunshine decides to arrive! And keeping with the spring theme I'd go for some white slip ons. I've never had white shoes as every time I have debated buying any I've remember how many pairs of shoes I've managed to ruin... But now I'm no longer at uni I think I'd be able to take care of them!

Folli Follie challenged me to create an outfit with no accessories, this outfit will then be sent to another blogger and they get to choose what accessories they think will go with it! I think this outfit would be perfect with some delicate silver bracelets and some over sized aviator sunglasses. Obviously I'd probably throw on some rings too as I seem to be a bit obsessed with rings right now!

What do you think of dungarees? Yay or nay?

Birthday Beauty Wishlist

It has been a while since I last did a wishlist post but I have been watching a lot of beauty videos recently and browsing Space NK. It is also my birthday in just over a month so if any family members are reading this... ;)

The first two products are ones I have wanted for a while, Anna from Vivanna Does Makeup used to use the By Terry Touche Veloutee a lot and I recently re-watched one of her old makeup tutorials where she used it. It sounds like the perfect under eye concealer. I currently use the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer but I'm finding that it's a bit too heavy for my liking at the moment. The second product is the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse which is an oil that can be used on your body or in your hair but I'd be buying it for my hair, I like that it would give a nice shimmer to your hair.

The other two products are relatively new. The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow has had rave reviews and I've recently got into contouring thanks to the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder so I'd love to give this one a go! Finally is the new Nars foundation, I really wanted to try Sheer glow but never got round to it. But the name of this foundation makes me think it would be perfect for me, lasts all day but isn't heavy. I usually find that foundations that say they last all day are usually quite heavy feeling on the skin which I don't really like.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know if they are any good, or if you really didn't get on with them!

Hope you have a lovely week

NOTD | Essie Warm and Toasty Turtleneck

Another NOTD with another Essie favourite! This is unlike any other colour in my collection, it's a gorgeous muted purple that is probably not very spring appropriate but never mind. I'm currently wearing a deep berry shade so definitely not following the spring trend to wear pastels!
I also love the name of this colour 'Warm and Toasty Turtleneck', how cute??

What do you think?

Review | Fleur De Force The Glam Guide

I've always been a huge fan of Fleur's channel, it is one of few channels that I think appeal to my age group rather than 12 year old girls. So when Fleur announced she was releasing a book I was actually quite excited!

I would compare this book to Lauren Conrad's Beauty and Style books. There are 7 sections as well as an intro and note to subscribers. I think this book would appeal to a pretty big age range, and you don't have to be a subscriber to like it. I really enjoyed reading this book and it's one I would go back to several times. My favourite sections were the hair section as Fleur has absolutely amazing hair and the more personal section at the end where there was this adorable photo of her and Mike.

The tips given throughout the book are really helpful and not at all patronising or too simplistic. I think a lot of people would learn some new beauty or style tricks from this book. At only £7.49 from Amazon I would highly recommend picking this up. And at least it would make a gorgeous coffee table book, I mean look at the rose gold lettering *heart-eyed emoji*

Would you consider buying this book?

Current Hair Favourites

Hair Products

A lot of the products I use on my hair have been the same for quite a while. I am still dedicated to the Bumble and Bumble Texture Creme, it gives my hair some definition without leaving it feeling crispy or loaded with product. I apply this and the Toni and Guy Radiating Tropical Elixir when my hair is wet. The Toni and Guy product is like an oil and I think that I have to give this the credit for helping my hair grow. My hair has been stuck at the same length for years but in the last couple of months people have started to comment on how much it is growing, finally!

I am fairly simple with my hair, definitely a wash and go kind of girl. So for use on dry hair there is only 3 products I really reach for. Obviously Batiste, who doesn't use this? For days when I'm too lazy to wash my hair or just to help give a bit more volume. Also for texture is the Bumble and Bumble City Swept Finish, this product is similar to most texturising sprays but it's a bit more wet so I find it holds the shape better than drier ones I've tried. Finally is the Fudge Urban hairspray, this stuff smells delicious and I'm on my 2nd bottle. It holds hair styles well, it's not the strongest hold I've ever had but I tend not to like super strong hair sprays cause they make my hair feel crispy.

Is there anything you think I'm missing? Any wonder products you'd like to recommend?

Hope you're having a lovely weekend :)

Sunday Summary | Anxiety

Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday!

I wanted to write a post about my anxiety. In January I told you it was improving and I thought I had it under control. February and March was a different story. I have been really struggling with anxiety and have had more panic attacks in the last 6 weeks than I have in the last 6 months. I think it's because I had a lot of social events which meant travelling lots and drinking alcohol too. Both of these things are huge triggers for my anxiety. I think it might be time to acknowledge that alcohol and me are not a good match. A few drinks on a Friday when I have no plans the next day is fine. But if I have plans the next day then I know I shouldn't drink anything. I don't know why it triggers it so badly, but at least I've figured out what causes my panic attacks so I can try to avoid them.

I'm determined to get my anxiety back under control and I think the first step to doing this is to cut out alcohol for a few weeks and see how I feel. I've spoken to lots of other bloggers with anxiety and the majority of them find alcohol to be a trigger so I think it's pretty normal!

Even though I've been having a hard time with anxiety I've managed to not let it take over my life like I used to. I have still been meeting friends after work and going out on the weekends, so it's definitely not as bad as my final year at uni. I am determined to never let it get to that stage again which is why I'm addressing the issue now so I can get back on track.

Do any of you suffer with anxiety? Any tips?

Home Inspiration | White Floorboards

Pinterest provides so much home inspiration and one that I have become obsessed with is white floorboards. Kate from Gh0stparties has one of the most gorgeous flats I have seen, I will definitely be using her posts as inspiration for when me and my boyfriend get a flat together.

Living in London means that flats are ridiculously expensive, which often means that flats you can afford are pretty small so I think it's really important to decorate it well. White floorboards can give rooms a really light feel but can sometimes also make rooms feel cold, but this can be counteracted with rugs and nice throws and cushions.

I definitely won't be getting a Pinterest-worthy flat anytime soon but a girl can dream, right?

NOTD | Essie Russian Roulette

Red Nail Polish

Red Nail Polish

Still obsessed with Essie, obviously. Russian Roulette is my favourite red, it is a very true red perhaps with a slight orange undertone but not much. I think red nails are a really classic look and one I am becoming more into. I want to find a really nice orange-red for Spring/Summer, I have Chanel Holiday which is the perfect colour but an awful formula, so and recommendations would be awesome!

Hope you're having a good week so far!

February Fitness Update

February was a bit of a fail fitness-wise. I am pretty disappointed with myself but I'm not going to beat myself up about it. I was away from home a lot during February visiting family and I also had a lot of friends visiting. For me seeing family and friends will always take priority so even though I had a bad month with fitness, I had an awesome month in every other aspect!

But we're in a new month now and I started off this morning with Kayla Itsines week 1 workout of her 12 week programme.

I think I've learnt that setting myself goals to workout 5-6 times a week is unrealistic for me. So instead, this month I am aiming for 3 workouts a week. If I do more than that, great. But if not? Who cares! I was probably out having fun!

I also want to start eating better, I recently bought Deliciously Ella's book and even though there is no way I could be vegan all the time, I want to try some of her recipes. If any of them are successful I will definitely do a blog post about them!

How are your fitness journeys going?

February Favourites

Beauty Products

March is here, so it's time for a few February favourites! I don't have many this month as I haven't tried many new things recently. Living in London has definitely meant my spending habits have had to change!

Two of these favourites are actually ones I've have had for a while and rediscovered. First up is the MAC Soft and Gentle highlighter. My friend Fliss, who blogs at Fifty Two Fridays, has this highlighter and I kept complimenting her on how great it looks and then realised I had it in my stash! It isn't the most subtle highlighter but it gives such a lovely sheen, and also works really great as an eyeshadow. The second rediscovery is the Nars Isolde eyeshadow duo, I remember buying this because of Zoella mentioning it in one of her really really old videos. It is a gorgeous duo with two orange-y shades, which doesn't sound very wearable but I have blue eyes and orange toned shades work really well with blue eyes.

A newer favourite is the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder. This purchase was influenced by Anna from Vivanna Does Makeup. I was looking to buy a contour but I was a bit scared of the cream contours as I generally haven't got on well with cream cheek products in the past. This product makes a great contour as it doesn't have any orange tones in it so can create a really realistic shadow colour. I was discussing contour products with people at work and it seems most people are scared of looking 'muddy' which I definitely am too, but I think it would be really difficult to go wrong with this product. You need to use a light hand and start with a small amount of product, as we all know you can always add more but it's hard to take excess off.

So not that many favourites this month, but hopefully this month I will find some new products to share with you.

Hope you've all had a great February!
